We all know that feeling we get on a Sunday evening, simply dreading all the chaos of reality to come ahead; but that has to stop today! Let’s, make it our mission to eliminate all that negativity in 2022 and be excited for the first day of the week. I know right, excited for monday!? I must sound insane! But at the end of the day, it’s just another… day!
Morning Rituals That Can Change Your Life
1. Choose your affirmations for the week
Affirmations change lives, yes you heard that right. Once I started using them, I became a whole new person. Either Sunday night or monday morning once I wake up, I choose a few positive affirmations to live by for the entire week. You’d be surprised how much of a difference in your mood and productivity it makes!

2. Make Your Bed
It is true, mess causes stress! Once I make my bed in the morning, that alone automatically gives me the push to want to be productive that entire day. Being surrounded by clutter and mess always has me feeling lazy; but once I turn that around, my mindset changes completely.
I like to start my morning by making my bed, giving the area a quick vacuum and neatening up any misplaced bits and pieces. I must say, this is definitely me during my good days, but consistency is key guys- just keep going at it!
3. Spend some time planning the week ahead
If you want to start your week the right way, make sure you plan to do so! Whether it be through journalling, a planner or online calendar, make sure you at least try to set out all of your tasks for the week.
I know without a doubt that without my to-do lists… I’m going to be doing next-to-nothing; so it’s now become a habit that I cannot live without.
Don’t worry if you’re not sure about each and every move you’ll be making day by day, simply jot down the things you remember and fill the rest out during the week. Having a rough idea of how your days will go ahead is a brilliant way to stay productive and take that unwanted stress off your mind.
4. Avoid staring at a screen for the first hour
I know, I know- we’re all guilty of this. Waking up first thing in the morning, checking our notifications and scrolling through Instagram. Before you know it, the whole morning has gone to waste (at least that’s what it feels like for me).
My top tip for you is to wake up early enough so you can be productive first thing! Once you’ve gotten a few tasks out of the way, you can afford to waste time on your socials. Try and get out of bed, make a cup of coffee and try completing numbers 1, 2 and 3 on the list above…. You can thank me later!

5. Get up and go
I can’t stress enough how a little bit of cardio can go a long way! Sometimes a little walk through the park or to the local cafe can make me great! Just getting some fresh air in my lungs and my limbs moving can really wake me up and have me pumped for the day.
Lately I have also been trying to workout in the mornings before I start any work work. So I walk around 15 minutes to the gym and that alone is so therapeutic in its own way! I’m able to just put my earphones in and block out the world, (making sure to look left and right before I cross the road…of-course) .
