Cook Time 5 mins
Course Breakfast, Dessert

  • 1 serving of baby's regular oatmeal/cereal
  • 1 handful Raisins or Mixed fruit any is fine
  • 1 Carrot grated
  • 1 Medium apple
  • 1 tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • Water for cooking

  • An extra sprinkle of cinnamon
  • 1 additional baby sized handful raisins

  • In a small bowl, soak your dried fruit in some hot water for up to 30 minutes
  • Peel, core and chop the apple, place in a saucepan
  • Peel and grate the carrot, place in saucepan
  • Add a little water to the carrot and apple then turn stove on high
  • Cover and simmer for around 5 minutes, or until apples are cooked through
  • Add the soaked dried fruit and cinnamon then blend to desired consistency, depending on your child's age.
  • Prepare baby's regular cereal/oatmeal/rice, add carrot mixture, serve with toppings and Enjoy!

  • Any left over puree can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days or in the freezer for up to 3 months
  • I mix this with my daughters multigrain porridge but the carrots can be combined with anything or even eaten alone!
  • If you have the time, you could in fact make this recipe as overnight oats- for babies over 8 months. Just add the puree, oats and baby's regular milk to a jar and leave overnight. If your baby is anything like mine, I'd recommend heating before serving!
  • Apples and carrots are full of fibre!
  • The carrot provides a source of Vitamin A which is good for baby's eyes.
